I am the co-director of Chloramine Information Center in Pennsylvania. We have been fighting against the use of chloramine in drinking water systems for over 2 years along side groups in California, Vermont, New York, North Carolina, Virginia and others. We are very interested in hearing from people who are suffering the following symptoms in chloraminated areas.
Persistent skin rashes
Respiratory ailments when showering
Digestive problems when drinking the water
increased seizures
dizzyness after showering
asthma like symptoms or increased asthma problems

If you are not sure you are in a chloraminated service area, please contact me and I will find out. We have heard from folks in 20 states who have suffered similar symptoms. Doctors do not have the ability to diagnose these symptoms as chloramine related as no studies have been done on the acute health effects of chloramine. To find out more and to contact us, please got o our website www.chloramineinfocenter.net .

I'm not sure if they are the same. Your website describes chloramine as "a combination of chlorine and ammonia." But according to the Malaysian National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau (http://portal.bpfk.gov.my/bpfk/), chloramine is actually a drug brand, active ingredient chlorpheniramine maleate (http://www.bpfk.gov.my/search/Detail.asp?Cari=&am...

I'm not a chemist. but I can tell you that chloramine used as a water disinfectant can cause eczema. I had terrible skin rashes and had to stop using our tap water--completely. Please see www.chloramine.org for more information.
